195 meters of outstanding design, technology and sustainable architecture: The Skyliner is an office building that sets standards down to the smallest detail. It’s no wonder then that the modern skyscraper has become the new landmark of the Wola district - one of the most dynamically developing parts of Warsaw. This is also due to the great location. All important points of Poland’s capital can be reached quickly and easily from the Wola district.
In the spirit of sustainability
However, at the beginning of the project, the architects from APA Wojciechowski Architekci had to ask themselves how to create a skyscraper that can serve its users for many years. The client wanted a timeless building that is all about sustainable architecture. Accordingly, value was not only placed on modern technology that increases the comfort of use of the building, but also on installed air filter systems and ecological solutions to save water and energy. This earned the building a BREEAM certificate of “Excellent”.
Connecting element: RECKLI 1/199 Bohemia
Even today, the Skyliner is a distinctive feature of Warsaw's city skyline. The slender tower rises above a wide, glass-enclosed base that stands 16 meters tall, creating the impression that the upper part of the building is floating above the ground. However, the most important architectural element is a wall made of structural concrete—referred to by the architects as "The Blade"—which acts as a brace, holding together the entrance cube, the 195-meter-high tower, and the two-story sky bar. For this wall, we utilized our formliner 1/199 Bohemia from the RECKLI SELECT series. The clear and smooth ribbed structure was applied to a total of 720 square meters, both on the façade and indoors, requiring just 5.7 square meters of our handcrafted matrices.
A new landmark for Warsaw
With the Skyliner, an elegant building has been created that not only stands out architecturally, but also provides its users with an extremely modern working environment in the most sustainable way possible. And with the two-story Skybar it also offers a spectacular view over Warsaw.
