The time has finally come and RECKLI can move into its new doors on Industriestraße in Herne
Since the previously rented administration building in Herne no longer offered enough space for the workplaces of the employees, it was decided in 2021 to carry out extensive construction work on an existing building and to supplement it with an extension. The design by the architecture and planning office of Schildgen (Herne) envisaged a two-storey building that harmonises visually with the existing building and is directly connected to it by a passage. In addition to bright and modern offices and meeting rooms, the new building manages, among other things, conference and break rooms as well as various product applications in the interior.
"Our goal was to create a company headquarters that reflects our expertise in the field of exposed concrete both in the interior and on the facade and at the same time is down-to-earth and authentic and adapts to the existing building," says Lutz Hammer, Managing Director of RECKLI.
The extraordinary exposed concrete facade gives the building a unique charm and attracts everyone's attention. The dark, vertically running wave profile of our structure 2/241 Hawaii from the SELECT series gives the facade a shallow and curtain-like deep structure and is characterized by pronounced geometric effects. We have commissioned our long-standing partner and specialists from Hering Bau (Burbach) with the planning, production and installation of the unusual façade solution, with whom we have already implemented numerous construction projects in the past.
A total of 14 sandwich elements were manufactured. The special Isolink facade anchor made of fiberglass composite material Combar from the manufacturer Schöck was used for the thermally separating attachment and the reliable hold. The surface of the cement skin was then dissolved and washed off by means of slight acidification. This is how the first parts of the aggregate appear and give the surface a matt and particularly high-quality appearance. Our Cemgel KS was used here.
With the unusual exposed concrete façade, RECKLI has not only created a functional and representative company headquarters, but also an architectural highlight that impressively showcases the company's expertise.
