In its fourth edition, the architecture magazine is moving from print to online publication. FORMLINER #4 is dedicated to the topic of “upheaval” in architecture. The online magazine combines reporting and interviews with innovative design.
The fourth edition of architecture magazine FORMLINER is here. Dedicated to the theme of “upheaval”, FORMLINER #4 sheds light on reform in architecture: from climate change to digital tools and the way we’ll live tomorrow.
What do hospitals look like that put patients first? In its case study, FORMLINER shows how designs change when architecture and psychology work together. How do we want to live in the future? The magazine introduces three different approaches. How do we react to the buildings, façades and surfaces around us? A photo study visualizes the interactions between humans and architecture. What role do architects have in climate change? FORMLINER looks at radical climate-friendly designs and innovations in material research to rethink concrete as a construction material.
The magazine lets two architects discuss the opportunities and limitations of BIM and whether digital tools suppress architects’ creativity. The “Architects ask” section brings planners together: this section of FORMLINER gives architects the opportunity to take a peek at each other’s everyday lives.
FORMLINER #4 is digital: as an online magazine, this fourth edition reinforces a position as a platform for visitors. The site serves as a hub for all topics concerning architecture and façade design outside the finite issues. Print copies will only be provided for “best of” editions or for large events such as trade fairs.
The story feature in the menu provides recent news, and articles contain short summaries, subtitles and text markups to make for easy reading. More features, such as reading length and filters for topic, country and author, offer additional usability for readers.
