Vestiaire du Club de Rugby, Chaponnay, France

A rugby club changing room – probably not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of exciting architecture. Yet the architects at 2:am architecture have managed to create something extraordinary. They used our textured formliner 2/210 Venezia for the facade of the sports club in Chaponnay. With its diagonal, symmetrically arranged convex squares, this abstract pattern from the RECKLI SELECT series is reminiscent of the players’ padded helmets, but its voluminous shape also evokes associations with power and strength. The structural concrete used across a total area of 80 m2 was cast at the FEHR Technologies Rhône Alpes precast plant.
