Impera Shopping Centre, Prague, Czech Republic

Simple forms, complemented by fine details – this is how a new shopping center on the outskirts of Prague can be described. Built on behalf of IMPERA, the multifunctional building is intended to improve the infrastructure in the Čakovice district. It’s also multifunctional as the supermarkets and cafes on the ground floor are complemented by office space on the upper floors.

Natural textures: RECKLI 2/32 Inn

Architect Andrey Golovashev designed the IMPERA shopping center as a three-story reinforced concrete structure with self-supporting sandwich walls from the HalaSystem by KŠ PREFA. Glass and concrete dominate the facade. While the smooth glass elements ensure that the office space is flooded with light, the concrete facade panels have been given an imaginative pattern. In action: our textured formliner 2/32 Inn from the RECKLI SELECT series. Due to its vertical wooden structure with knots of different lengths and widths, it enters into an interesting dialogue with the clean glass of the facade. The patter also makes it appear almost abstract.

Thinking about the future

In addition to the facade design, sustainability was also considered in the construction of the shopping center. Fast charging stations for electric cars are available in the parking lot in front of the building. And the flat roof is completely fitted with photovoltaic panels in order to cover part of the energy requirement with renewable sources. Further urban development measures are already planned: A garden restaurant and an underground car park will soon be built behind the shopping center.
