Information on the restriction of diisocyanates
As from 24th August 2020 an amendment of annex XVII of regulation 1907/2006 EC (REACH) came into force concerning the restriction on the use of diisocyanates. Diisocyanates are reactive components for the production of polyurethanes, and thus constituents of chemical products as adhesives, sealants or foams. When containing monomeric diisocyantes at a total content of 0.1 % (by weight) or more, they may not be used for industrial or professional purposes after the 23rd August 2023, unless an appropriate training has successfully completed prior to use.
This does not mean that the use of diisocyanates is banned in principle
